I don't have much to say...except that I'm tired, HUNGRY and not really feeling the essence of this holy month :-(I've never been a big eater and I don't smoke. Abstaining from food from sunrise to sunset and trying to balance work-life and home-life is starting to take it's toll on my body.
It's not so much the lack of food and drinks but the fatigue, forcing myself up in the morning, rushing to get home after work to get food ready for my iftar "deadline" and sitting in traffic every morning and every evening is draining me of every ounce of energy.
I shouldn't say this but I really cannot wait to go back to functioning normally.
Ramadaan is no excuse for poor performance but don't we all just want to forget about work until we get some sustenance.....or some coffee LOL
I was doing some research trying to find ways of feeling less tired during this month, I was hoping that a change in diet would help but it's hard to follow a diet when you crave certain things during the day that you absolutely need to eat after sunset LOL. So in my research I stumbled upon....wait for it....a RAMADAN TABLET I thought it was rather peculiar. The tablet will allow fasting to be a beautiful experience by taking away the fatigue and agitation and allow you to go about your daily obligations with ease. This product is especially helpful for the working man and woman or college students.
I thought fasting is meant to teach us Muslims patience, modesty and spirituality, it just shows what sort of times we are living in. You get a tablet for every thing nowadays.....

You are not the only one not feeling it. A few other people have mentioned it to me and myself included. Perhaps we are so caught up in life and cooking and baking. Suppose we don't realise how early Magrieb is - thus making the time to get done shorter.
What I found to help me with the fatigue is black seed capsules - Fil gets them for CHEAP in Mitchell's Plain. I've moved on to the oil - which is yukky, but I have it so don't want to waste it and it works. I am up so early but ALgamdulillah with all my running around and chasing toddler (he dashes now) I have been ok.
It's true, we really do over burden ourselves with the non-essentials. I just can't help myself though...it's feels weird to not have a variety of snacks and something sweet as well.
I'll read up some more on the black seed goodies later....there's a health shop in Canal Walk that I can check out, I always prefer the more natural approach :)
Hope you have you have a good day....
