HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!Today is my 27th birthday! I must be honest there's nothing like a birthday to make you feel alive, loved, appreciated and thought of more than any other time.
Ok, so Facebook does make wishing people happy birthday very easy but nonetheless I feel honored that so many people took the time out of their Sunday to fill my email inbox with a barrage of Facebook notifications and shower ME with birthday wishes :) THANK YOU EVERYBODY!!!!
Most importantly my husband presented me with more gifts than I could ever ask for. And i mean this literally. I received a lot of presents from him, he says the extra presents were on behalf of my baby daughter LOL. I am so grateful for everything and I am fortunate to have him in my life. Not to mention my parents, sister and my close friends. WOW, I AM TOUCHED! seriously....
Reflecting on the year that was...boy, what a year!
In celebrating my 27th birthday, here are 27 of the highlights of my year:
- Last year this time, I was fat, uncomfortable and 8.5 months pregnant
- I gave birth in November to my bouncing, happy li'l baby daughter
- I had to adjust to motherhood
- I was on maternity leave for 4 months
- I talked my mom into looking after my daughter when I return to work, she hasn't looked after any of the other grandchildren
- My husband knocked my car so I was car-less for my entire maternity leave which taught me patience and humbled me as I needed to depend on my father and others
- I received several wedding invitations orders
- I created a wedding invitation website
- I purchased a new car a few days before returning to work
- My days become longer and tiring, routine included fetching my daughter after work every day
- I cook less
- I clean less immaculately
- I shave my legs, wax my eyebrows, style my hair and pamper myself less
- I laugh more and can see the lighter side of life
- We made it through 1 year of marriage in February
- I am more giving and thoughtful
- I am thinking of a change in career
- I picked up 17 kgs during my pregnancy and only lost 6 :-(
- Husband gave me gym membership at a Ladies only gym so hopefully I can fit into my old clothes again soon
- I embraced my new meatier body
- I received several interview requests, accepted them and then turned them down later...I keep chickening out. I love BulkSMS too much :)
- I worry about my parents more
- I neglected my garden
- I don't hang out with friends much
- I like being home
- I am re-discovering my love of writing, words and I am considering doing a journalism course
- I started blogging
