I have succumbed to getting domestic help!For the simple reason that I have had way too many card/invitation orders lately that my domestic duties suffered a bit.

Sadly, it only managed to save two sentences of the story. Stupid maid switched the plug off which switched the pc off :(
Now I can't even remember what I typed….Aaarrrghhh well anyway, we got a maid in today. As I pointed out I was very busy with all the card orders that we decided to try out a maid service. We found Marvellous Maids online and booked a char with them, out of need and curiosity. I was really keen to compare my own cleaning to that of a professional. I'll give her some credit, the house does look a lot better BUT from the view of the lounge from where I am sitting now at the pc, I can clearly see that the ottoman was not moved as there is still dust underneath it. Is it because it was the last room she cleaned and was very tired by then OR is that just normal Mmmmm….
Surely for the price we're paying, one does have to get your monies worth. If I spared a few hours of my day I could so it all MYSELF, for FREE and used the maid fee to take the family out for a VERY decent dinner. But thank you dear char-lady, at least I know I helped someone get through the month by using the service. I chatted to the maid a bit, we're the same age (she does look much older), and she has two kids and lives in less formal surroundings and I know she could use the money to feed and care for her family. Will I use the service again, I really don't know. It's great to know there is such a service; they deliver a tried and tested person to your house which eliminates all the risks of bringing strangers with no references or personal details into your home. Maybe every other month or when there really isn't time to clean OR maybe I'll try another similar service just for interest sake and also to compare the work ethic and price :)

Having tried a service already - I highly recommend the one I am using The Dream Team - I have had 2 of the ladies and their work is FANTASTIC! Every clean is a spring clean. Very good work ethic. The rate is also good.
What's the rate? We paid R205, she was done at 12.30pm...but we do have a small place. I think they need to have different rates for the size of the house because it is rather unfair to pay the same rate as someone with a large house that may take all day to clean. Or perhaps I should have digged up enough work for the lady lol
But send me their details for when I may get too busy to clean thoroughly.
R150 ! And she even repacks my cupboards. The cool thing is they collect her at a particular time so she is intuitive enough to allocate a new task to fill the outstanding time. Dream Team : 0726736145 Nadia
